Vegans and Vegetarians of Alberta

I am a retired engineer who has been passionate about the environment for years before it became a focal point. I became vegetarian after reading Diet for A New America in the 1980’s and became vegan in the late 1990’s. I believe, and the research supports, that adopting a vegan diet is the most important step you can take to save the planet.

I take every opportunity I can to write articles or advocate for reduction of climate change. I am an avid cyclist and walk and do stretches daily. I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s 8 years ago and I believe that my healthy diet has helped slow the progress of this disease.

I have been on the board of Vegans & Vegetarians of Alberta for over 30 years and I set up the monthly potlucks and help out at events. I have done multiple presentations on the impact of a vegan diet on reducing climate change over the years.
