From all of us on the VegFest and VVOA teams, we want to send a huge thank you to all of the sponsors, volunteers, vendors, entertainers and attendees of VegFest Edmonton 2023!
We may have had weeks of constant cold, rainy weather leading up to the big event, but it all cleared up with enough time to dry out and become an absolutely gorgeous day. It made for a very successful VegFest with people coming in droves to try some of the best vegan food, products and services that Edmonton (and a few other places like Calgary and B.C.) has to offer.
It was incredible to see the amount of vegans, vegetarians, and those curious about the lifestyle show up. Everywhere I looked, all I could see were smiling faces!
Many of our vendors reported being blown away by the amount of support they received, with many selling out of what they thought would be an abundance of product. Our volunteers really came through and put their heart and soul into helping to make it such a successful day. While visitors may not have seen just how much work went into it, we had many volunteers working from dusk till dawn from Friday till Sunday and beyond. To those, I want to send an extra special thank you! Without you and the many other volunteers that helped behind and in front of the scenes before, after and during the event, this could not have been possible.
I’d also like to send an extra shoutout to DJ Johnny Infamous who kept us all grooving with his great mixes and also went above and beyond by making sure our speakers had all of their sound needs met.
We hope everyone that came out had a fantastic time. We know not everything was perfect, but we would love to try again to bring this incredible festival back year after year. If you would like to help support us in our efforts, donations are welcome year round. We’d also love to see some new faces taking on volunteer roles and sharing their ideas and talents with the team.
